Careless driving/driving without due care
This offence is committed when the accused's driving falls below the standard expected of a reasonable, prudent and competent driver in all the circumstances of the case.
The maximum penalties are:
- a £2,500; and
- mandatory 3 to 9 penalty points; and
- discretionary disqualification.
